Batch process your tasks

Grouping tasks that are similar together will make it easier to accomplish and will save time. If you have a number of tasks that require communication (such as answering emails or telephone calls), group them into a single task that you can accomplish within a set time.

Organize your workspace and files

It may not seem important, but a messy office or desk can be a major productivity killer. Try cleaning up your desk by filing away items you no longer use or need.

It may sound counterintuitive to take breaks when you are trying finish a project, but breaks will help you be more efficient and recover some energy that you may have spent working on the task. Take short breaks during the day to stay alert and focused.
